The patented bacteria in AquaProB are selected for their ability to grow in fresh and saltwater environments and for their enzyme producing abilities. They have been used in catfish ponds and shrimp farms to reduce the amount of accumulated organic material and to improve the quality of the aquatic environment.  As with all products of this nature they function via competition for nutrients.  Their enzymes degrade a wide variety of substrates. 

AquaProB is a powdered product.  Available in bulk in 25 kg bags (or in a variety of pail sizes), our primary formulation contains two strains of spore-forming gram-positive bacteria, Bacillus subtilis, and Bacillus licheniformis.  Each kg contains at least 4 trillion spores plus nutrients that help kick-start the product prior to addition to the ponds.  These strains are enzyme factories that will degrade many different substrates and do an unsurpassed job degrading the organic sludge that accumulates in fish and shrimp ponds.

The proper use of AquaProB requires soaking the product in water before use.   This "activation"     allows the spores to germinate into metabolically active bacterial cells before you add them to your ponds, hatchery, lake, etc.  IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT not all environments are suited for use of this approach to pond bioremediation. Large ponds with limited areas of contamination are better suited for treatment with our EZ and tableted products.   For ponds that are well aerated, we suggest you consider using our products that are targeted for delivery to the pond bottoms.   The nutrients present in AquaProB will be rapidly dispersed and diluted in these bodies of water making their addition a waste.   However if activation is allowed to take 12 hours or so, many of these nutrients will have served their purpose. 

Our product contains much higher levels of bacteria than most competitors products and at a very competitive price, giving you a powerful product, highly effective (field proven) at a reasonable cost.   The final cost depends of course on how much you use.   As noted earlier, no two ponds are the same and we encourage users to take full advantage of the concept of titration.   Optimizing usage requires patience.   We make suggestions.  See publications page for details.  For some of our clients, we  add different bacterial species.  All you have to do is ask for a custom formulation.
